This was the case with one of our recent projects. Customers needed two independent entry gates as the property was used by two cars. Each gate was supposed to allow convenient entry for one car, and at the same time it could not collide with cars parked in the driveway.
Question: Where to open the door?
First, we had to look at the solutions available.
A sliding gate requires an appropriate amount of free space along the fence so that the sash can move freely. In this case, there was simply no such space.
In turn, the traditional double-leaf gate opens onto the driveway. With two cars parked in close proximity, the fenders could limit space or even collide with vehicles.
So we needed a solution that would allow us to use the existing space in a more efficient way.
Broken gate - a solution tailored to the conditions
In this case, we decided on the broken gates.
Their design allows you to fold the wings when opening. As a result, the gate needs much less space than a classic double-leaf structure, and at the same time it does not require free space along the fence, which a sliding gate would need.
This is why a broken gate can be an interesting solution on properties where standard types of entry gates are difficult to apply.
In this implementation, we made two breakable Gates, thanks to which each of the cars received its own, independent entrance.
Two gates, two independent drives
Convenience of use was one of the most important assumptions of the project.
We applied a separate automatic drive to each gate. Thanks to this, each gate can be opened independently, depending on which entrance the user uses.
Gate automation also allows daily use of the entrance without getting out of the car – a particularly appreciated feature when using the property frequently.
Why not always choose a standard gate?
When designing a fence, it is worth looking at the whole not only from the side of appearance, but also functionality and conditions prevailing on the property.
Before choosing an entrance gate, it is worth checking m.in.:
how much space is there along the fence,
how wide is the driveway,
where cars are parked,
which way can the gate open?,
will the wing not collide with the car,
is it possible to use the drive,
how much space is left for free maneuvering of the car.
Sometimes the answers to these questions show that a sliding gate or a classic double-leaf gate is not the best option. Then it is worth looking for a structure adapted to a specific place.
Entrance gate tailored to a specific property
At RATAYCZAK, we are not limited to standard solutions. Under unusual conditions, we analyze the technical possibilities and look for a solution that will suit both the space and the way the property is used.
In this implementation, we managed to combine several important elements:
✔ two independent entry gates
✔ broken design limiting the space needed when opening
✔ two independent drives
✔ a solution tailored to the way cars are parked
✔ modern look consistent with other elements of the property
The end result? Customers can conveniently use both entrances, and the problem of limited space has been solved.
Do you have a similar problem with choosing a gate?
If there is no room for a sliding gate on your property, and a double-leaf gate could interfere with the car or limit the space in the driveway, it is also worth considering a broken gate.
Each property has different conditions, therefore, before making the gate, it is worth analyzing the available space and how it is used.
Do you have an unusual entrance or limited space? Send us dimensions, photos or a simple sketch – we will check what solution we can prepare for you.
Dinosaurs did not have fences – and we all know how that ended for them. Fortunately, today we can choose modern fences that protect, organise space and look great. Below, you can find out which fence is best for your home, business and garden.
